Stunning Wedding at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota

Flowers by Fudgie had another awesome opportunity to be a part of a couple’s most cherished day–we love what we do!

This stunning wedding took place at the always elegant Hyatt Regency Sarasota. Yellow and purple were the colors of the day! These colors particularly complement each other based on their position on the color wheel.

The pergola at the Palm Terrace at the Hyatt was turned into a Chuppa for this breathtaking ceremony. It was draped with sheer organza and decorated with golden yellow lilies, purple orchids and yellow roses. The palm trees were used to soften the look behind the Chuppa. Flowers by Fudgie also lined the aisle with carpet runners flanked with Sheppard hooks with glass cones of yellow roses.

The glowing and gorgeous Bride carried a garden mix of hydrangea, rose and mini calla with lavender and purple dendrobium orchid florets. The bridesmaids held hand tied bouquets of Yellow “Latina” roses with the deep purple dendrobium orchids that matched their gowns.

We used a mix of 2 styles of table centerpieces…elevated centerpieces with topiaries of purple hydrangea with several sizes of cylinders with floating candles to give the room a warm romantic look. The other style centerpieces were done with tall cylinders with submerged purple orchids with up lighting. Both were breathtakingly beautiful!

The wedding cake was in a class of its own! It was adorned with fresh hydrangea and small yellow spray roses.

St. Armands Lutheran Church & Sarasota Yacht Club Wedding

Green, white and navy were the colors chosen for this Tallahassee couple’s special day. The ceremony was held at St Armands Key Lutheran Church. The bride walked down the aisle in a white strapless ball gown and carried a fragrant, garden style bouquet of white peonies, white ranunculus, white freesia, just a few white roses and mini green hydrangea. This bouquet was as fragrant as it was lovely! The attendant wore a strapless, knee length navy dress and carried green roses, green mini hydrangea with white ranunculus and white lisianthus. Boutonnieres for the men were single white freesia – the perfect compliment to the gardeny feel of the bouquets.

A short drive and guests arrived at the beautiful new Sarasota Yacht Club. Table centerpieces were lavish overstuffed glass cubes with white hydrangea, green mini hydrangea and white roses surrounded by lots of votive candles on navy linens. Pastry by Design created a delectable cake adorned with fresh white ranunculus – too beautiful to cut, but too delicious not to! Everyone agreed it was a wonderful evening of dining and dancing.

Sarasota has so many varied locations and venues there’s sure to be something to please every bride’s wedding vision. We hope they choose Flowers by Fudgie as their Sarasota Florist regardless of location.

Crystals and Candlelight

You just cannot go wrong with candlelight for a wedding….it is so romantic to see a candle lit aisle, as was done for this wonderful couple at Saint Barbara’s Greek Orthodox Church, Sarasota. Every other pew end was adorned with white roses tucked into ivy cascading down the single candelabrum.

Maria Brady of Choreographed Events is always great to work with. She brought in special linen for the cake and head table that were just exquisite. Planning this up scaled wedding was a huge undertaking but done with easy by Maria. You will see by looking at our photo gallery that Tibor of Imley Photography, did an outstanding job capturing the event.

I do not think I have seen the Ritz Carlton Ballroom as grand with the soft lighting effect and fabric draping done by Affairs in the Air, coupled with the striking arrangements that the Fudgie designers did on site. Two styles of arrangements were used. Both in tall vases but one with long white orchids with chandeliered hanging votives and the other of tall curly willow branches with white dendrobium orchids attached and crystals garlands raining from the branches and many hanging votive candles. The branches stood 5 to 6’ tall of the tables which filled the room with it tall ceiling.

The long head table with its fabulous linen was flanked with two 36” all crystal 5 branch candelabrum topped with white orchids and then lined with dozens of candles between. The place card table in the pre function area at the Ritz had a vase of tall curly willow branches with crystals and tiny orchids on monofilament. The monofilament rained from its branches. This impressive piece was in the center of all the place cards that spiraled out from it base.

The sparkle of the crystals in the candlelight made for an absolutely awesome look.
