You know you live in an amazing city when people from all over the country choose it as a destination location for their wedding day! And as Sarasota wedding venues go, none is more amazing than the always-dazzling Sarasota Ritz Carlton! A very special couple from Dallas, TX chose the gorgeous Ritz for their once-in-a-lifetime day and we had the honor of beautifying it even further with flowers specially designed for this awesome couple!

The beautiful bride chose a pretty and vibrant pink and white theme for the wedding itself, but then opted for an all white look for the reception with lots of shimmering candlelight. The bride’s bouquet was a hand-tied wonder of David Austin Patience roses. These one-of-a-kind roses feature lots and lots of petals making them resemble open peonies. Smaller ivory spray roses were interspersed throughout the bouquet.

The bridesmaids, in eye-catching pink dresses, carried gorgeous hand-tied bouquets of Pink O’Hara garden roses and fragrant Attaché roses, carefully nested into perfect white hydrangea… stunning!

The ceremony was held in the peaceful and simply beautiful Healing Garden at the Ritz Carlton Sarasota. The couple was flanked by two lovely garden arrangements in pink and white and a pink rose lined aisle.

After the ceremony, the party moved inside to the ballroom where the reception took place. We alternated between elevated and low arrangements on the tables all in white and cream tones to include hydrangea, orchids, lilies and roses for a dream-like look.  The elevated pieces included chandeliered votives hanging from curly willow branches.  The head table was a feast for the eyes! Two of the dreamy elevated arrangements topped the table with several votives candles flowing down the middle of the table to provide further illumination.

Cocktails were also outside in the Healing Garden area with the reception in the grand ballroom. The Ritz’s talented pastry chef used fresh flowers provided by Flowers by Fudgie, in the colors of the wedding using eggplant asters and mini mums!!

A wishing tree was place in the pre function area for guest.  A wedding wish tree or wishing tree is a brilliant idea to replace the traditional guest book in a fun way. The basic concept is to decorate a tree in your wedding colors’ and style and then provide wish tree cards for your guests. Your guests then write anything they like on the cards from best wishes, dreams, or helpful advice for the newlyweds and then tie them on the branches of the tree. After,  these mementos make a fantastic addition to any wedding album or scrapbook. In this couples case, Flowers by Fudgie use Manzanita branches with fresh green hydrangeas at the base which added to the decor in the cocktail  area.

The sweetheart table of 2 was completed by using the bridal bouquet and two of the hand tied bridesmaids bouquet on the ends of the table. By doing so, the couple got a little  double duty out by using the bouquets as centerpieces now at the reception.

Nicole Kaney of NK Productions orchestrated this fabulous wedding in the garden at the Ritz Carlton Sarasota.  The bride wanted to incorporate the bold fuchsia color of the bougainvillea and orchids.  The talented designers and staff at Flowers by Fudgie created a garden arch of natural willow and bougainvillea vines.  The aisle was lined with lanterns topped with Ravel roses and bougainvillea as well. 

An oval bouquet was designed of mokara and phalanopsis orchids with a few of the Ravel rose tucked in to pull a little deeper hot pink color into the bouquet.   Barbara Banks of Barbara Banks Photography captured the day and we thank her for sharing her beautiful photos. 

The staff at the Ritz Carlton Sarasota did their usual job of preparing a gorgeous  ballroom.  The tables were dressed with  shimmering gold linens and each table was topped with two tall cylinders of curly willow with a collar of hot pink rose with bougainvillea trailing over the sides as also tied into the branches.  Two low arrangements in glass cubes with a mound of hot pink roses, orchids and spray roses were nested between the two tall vases.  The tables looked opulent.  The feasting table for the wedding party had an over the top look with several  tall willow vases and many low arrangements and candles worked between the tall vases trailing down the long “T” shaped table. The place card table also was designed with a tall vase of willow, roses and bougainvillea; but also included prisms and chandeliered votives in the pre-function area at the Ritz.   The happy couple was thrilled with the look.  Another successful wedding with a great team of vendors!

]She selected a simple hand tied bouquet of all hand open white roses and her bridesmaids carried all red.  Bamboo vases of all white flowers to include stock, lilies, roses and alstromeria, flanked each side of the couple.  The oblong dinner tables  for the reception in the Grill where topped with 2 small bowls of white lilies, red rose and delphinium and the cake created by the pastry chef of the Ritz was topped simply with 3 hand open red roses.

The sweetheart table had one continual arrangement along the table’s edge with several different sized votives and floating candles worked between.  Small 2” glass cubes were nested under the green moss and between the hardy flowers.   The small cubes filled with water held the fragile flowers such as the hydrangea in this is “layout” design for the couples table of honor.

Rev Georgeanne Butler preformed the ceremony, which included a “sand ceremony” element.   Two large bamboo vases of areca palms and river cane with Bombay orchids flanked the couple and the aisle was decorated with sheppard hooks with glass cones of hydrangea and pink spray roses that were then reused on some of the table settings at the reception.  

The bride carried a bouquet of soft pink hydrangea with pink ranunculus and the brides with hot pink ranunculus.  White dendrobium orchids where used in the brides hair as well on the jacket of the groom.

The Sunset Terrace at the Ritz Member Beach Club over looking the beautiful Gulf of Mexico was the reception site and where the couple and their family and friends celebrated their marriage.

At the base of the stairs the bride walked through a rose covered arch.  The aisle was flanked with Sweet Unique pink rose petals and at the back of the aisle the guests were met with two large arrangements of hydrangea and pink rose with trailing green amaranths.

 The bride carried a bouquet of soft pink hydrangea topped with light pink ranunculus and on the handle a small photo of the bride’s grandmother who was there in spirit right in the palm of her hand. Audrey Snow Photography got a perfect photo of the bouquet along with many other excellent photos that the couple will cherish.

 Dinner tables had a composite look using 3 glass cubes topped with hot pink, blue and soft pink hydrangea with a little seeded eucalyptus to trial over the sides and then floating candles that were also in glass cubes.  Another beautiful party under a  starry night on Sarasota Bay.
