Powel Crosley featured with bold colored wedding flowers

The Powel Crosley Museum is a spectacular wedding venue on Sarasota Bay.[Our bridal couple chose the Crosley and the fabulous Tibor Imley of Imley Photography to capture there day. The couple used a bold palette of color to include orange, hot pink, lime green, and teal. Peacock feathers were also included in all the bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres to add interest and texture. A graduate of Ringling School of Art, the bride had a wonderful eye for color and style.

The terrace, at the Crosley was the ceremony site where the center arch was draped with off white fabric by Affairs in the Air for a backdrop. The back of the aisle was flanked by trailing greenery at the base of 2 large lanterns at the entrance. The grand stairway made for a wonderful entrance for the bride, and was treated with trailing pathos plants to soften the look of the concrete wall, that were provided through Made in the Shade Plant Rentals.

Cocktails were held following the ceremony under the gazebo and a delicious dinner served by Jaime of Simply Gourmet Catering was inside the Great Room on long feasting style tables. The tables were decorated with centerpieces of natural Manzanita branches with hanging votives, lime green orchids and the base of the arrangements included vibrant hot pink Ravel roses, orange Asiatic lilies, lime green buttons and trailing seeded eucalyptus and placed on teal table runners. For additional candle light, the bride designed transparent wraps for cylinders vases that were of the colors of the wedding which served as table numbers and also votives with an 8 hour oil light inside.

It was wonderful to be able to work with a bride who knew exactly what she wanted and had a vision where the designers at Flowers by Fudgie were able to pull it all together.

Sarasota Destination Wedding Ritz Carlton Style

This destination wedding was planned exclusively through emails and photo consultations between the bride and Flowers by Fudgie’s designers! The wedding was planned for the lawn area at the Ritz Members Beach Club on Lido Key with a candlelight reception in the Grill Room.

The bride chose all white and cream tones for her wedding flowers with the only bit of color being fuchsia orchids to give a pop of color at the ceremony site.

The photos were taken by Tibor Imley of Imely Photography and, as usual, he did a fantastic job capturing the ambiance of the day’s events. The bride chose a simple, hand-tied cluster of roses for herself, bridesmaid, junior bridesmaid and even the moms.

The lattice arch was trimmed with sheer ivory organza, white lilies and Bombay orchids. Two beautiful urns greeted the guests at the back of the aisle and two additional urns stood on two-foot columns, flanking the sides of the arch. The Bombay orchids also brought a touch of color to the chairs at the aisle end of each row.

For the reception, the bride chose a set of three pedestal candle holders with floating candles. Each had a bit of brushed gold, surrounded by white hydrangea, roses and orchids with touches of gold lemon leaves. The floral pieces looked lovely on the linens selected by the Ritz with almost an iridescent look to them.

An Elegant Traditonal Wedding-St. Barbara’s Church & Ritz Carlton

Our wedding couple chose a traditional wedding in the lovely sanctuary at St. Barbara’s Greek Orthodox Church. Fresh flowers alternated with bows down the aisle and the couple was flanked on either side by two beautiful arrangements of Sahara roses and hydrangea. Tibor Imley, of Imley Photography provided the lovely photos in this blog posting. The couple’s reception was held in the Ritz Carlton Ballroom in Sarasota. The rich deep navy blue linens were topped with tall six foot vases of curly willow with a collar of Sahara roses and small white orchids with attached to the branches and the cake also was decorated with the champagne colored rose. The ballroom looked fabulous.

Crystals and Candlelight

You just cannot go wrong with candlelight for a wedding….it is so romantic to see a candle lit aisle, as was done for this wonderful couple at Saint Barbara’s Greek Orthodox Church, Sarasota. Every other pew end was adorned with white roses tucked into ivy cascading down the single candelabrum.

Maria Brady of Choreographed Events is always great to work with. She brought in special linen for the cake and head table that were just exquisite. Planning this up scaled wedding was a huge undertaking but done with easy by Maria. You will see by looking at our photo gallery that Tibor of Imley Photography, did an outstanding job capturing the event.

I do not think I have seen the Ritz Carlton Ballroom as grand with the soft lighting effect and fabric draping done by Affairs in the Air, coupled with the striking arrangements that the Fudgie designers did on site. Two styles of arrangements were used. Both in tall vases but one with long white orchids with chandeliered hanging votives and the other of tall curly willow branches with white dendrobium orchids attached and crystals garlands raining from the branches and many hanging votive candles. The branches stood 5 to 6’ tall of the tables which filled the room with it tall ceiling.

The long head table with its fabulous linen was flanked with two 36” all crystal 5 branch candelabrum topped with white orchids and then lined with dozens of candles between. The place card table in the pre function area at the Ritz had a vase of tall curly willow branches with crystals and tiny orchids on monofilament. The monofilament rained from its branches. This impressive piece was in the center of all the place cards that spiraled out from it base.

The sparkle of the crystals in the candlelight made for an absolutely awesome look.
