Destination Wedding at Stunning Lido Beach Resort

destination wedding sarasota, FLIt’s no surprise that Florida tops the list for best destination wedding spots in the U.S.! Who can blame couples for wanting to experience their special day in our beautiful sunny state with our gorgeous beaches? And a wonderful couple from Lexington, Kentucky chose to do their wedding at the simply stunning Lido Beach Resort right here in Sarasota!

It is a wonderful property for a destination wedding. The hotel accommodates both large and small groups. Its flexible venue also boasts a sunset Terrace that will accommodate about 75 guests and has a picture perfect view of the gulf—ideal for the perfect beach wedding!

This wedding was right on the beach under one of our classic bamboo and fabric canopies.  The aisle was lined with pretty purple orchids to make a grand entry for the magnificent bride!bamboo canopy on beach

bridal bouquetThe bride choose a hand tied bouquet of white hydrangea nested with mini calla lilies and roses. Very soft lavender Misteen Dendrobium orchids were also in the bouquet, which added just a hint of color, but not so much so to detract from the bride!

Wedding Party Her bridesmaids were dazzling in coral and jade colored gowns; they glowed with color! They carried bouquets of purple hydrangea with coral roses and the soft lavender orchids. The purple mixed with the coral was a knock-out!

The precious moments of the day were captured by Villetto Photography.  See the gallery below for all the fabulous photographs. His pictures are works of art!

The bride also worked with Finishing Touches by Tammy Gamso to help with her make-up and hair for her the day. Tammy is a one-of-a-kind artist and her talent shone through…all the brides love her!

The beauty of this wedding continued with the table centerpieces. They were simple and elegant: varying heights of cylinders with jade-colored gems in the base, submerged purple orchids and floating candles-perfection!cylinder with bombay orchid

Working with this couple and all the vendors was simply a delight! We love what we do at Flowers by Fudgie and consider it our honor and pleasure to provide you with the best service for your day!

Here’s a quick snippet of an email we received from the bride of this wedding:

Becki, Amanda, and the rest of the Flowers by Fudgie staff did an amazing job with all of the flowers for my March 31, 2012 wedding. Thank you so much!

Destination Wedding at the Ritz Carlton Sarasota, FL

chuppaThe day was perfect for a destination wedding at the Members Beach Club at the Ritz Carlton on Lido Beach: comfortable temperature, shining sun, and low humidity with a bit of a breeze! Add a beautiful bride and handsome groom with great flowers and it’s picture perfect! Just the way we like it at Flowers by Fudgie and this beautiful destination wedding was stunning in every way!

The color scheme of this special day was soft blues and cream tones which complemented the sparkling water and glittery sand. A beautiful Jewish service was performed under a very special chuppa. You see, the bride wanted to incorporate something from her mother’s, grandmother’s, and sister’s wedding. So, we used their wedding veils on the chuppa in a draped garland effect across the front and back. It was so beautiful and unique!Bride and Bridesmaid bouquets

The bride also had her heart set on white peonies. Although still early in the season, we were fortunate to get a few incorporated into the bouquet. We also added fuller open garden roses which have a similar effect as the peonies and small white orchids to add a tropical touch. All of this was nested into hydrangea. We aim to please our brides at Flowers by Fudgie and it brings us great pleasure to do so!

The bridesmaid’s bouquets also featured white garden roses but these were nested into blue hydrangea. And the dazzling blue and white theme continued as the spectacular wedding cake had blue and white hydrangeas in a cascade effect down the side of it.blue and white hydrangea wedding cake

stunning white centerpieceThe glamour and beauty of this day continued as the reception was held on the gorgeous Sunset Terrace at the Ritz overlooking the water. This water view can not be beat!

The tables were decorated with a mix of smaller hydrangea vases and cylinders filled with crystals and floating candles. A candlelit reception was of utmost importance to the bride as well, so each table had 6 cylinders at varying heights and 6 votive candles to create the ambiance the couple desired. It was glowing and gorgeous!

The memories of this fabulous day were captured by the impeccable Audrey Snow Photography.  Please be sure to see all the great photos from the day in the gallery below.

For the Love of Daisies!

Daisy flower Bridal BouquetDaisies are like sunshine to the ground.—Drew Barrymore

We couldn’t agree more…daisies truly are like sunshine to the ground! Their simplicity and elegance brings a smile to anyone’s face. And there were smiles for miles at the Truesdale wedding! The glowing bride chose happy daisies as the flower of choice for her special day.

This stunning wedding was held at the spectacular Lakewood Ranch Country Club. The ceremony was on the lush lawn under our wooden pergola with a gorgeous garland of vines, greenery and wisteria. Guests were greeted at the back of the aisle by 2 lovely bamboo vases arrangements all in stunning white.bamboo urn with pergola

The bride’s bouquet was created with ivory Gerbera daisies and we nested them into cream hydrangea to give the bouquet more fullness. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of coral and yellow Gerbera daisies with the yellow “Latina” roses worked between—simply breathtakingly beautiful! The bouquets matched the fabulous coral dresses worn by the bridesmaids and the yellow made for a nice pop against them! yellow and coral gerbera daisy bridesmaids bouquet

Since Lakewood Ranch Country Club has a large room with a high ceiling, the bride chose to do half the guest tables arrangements with the tall curly romantic willow branches to help to fill out the room and provide balance. The striking centerpieces were made of tinted coral hydrangea with yellow roses and Gerbera daisies nested between them—small tinted coral orchids were tied into the branches as well!

And to highlight the couple’s penchant for honey bees, small mason jars of honey with a honey bee logo on each were given as favors to the guests. Flowers by Fudgie added bees to all the branches of the arrangements, as well as tucked them in the daises in the low arrangements…such a fun and whimsical touch!coral hydrangea with yellow roses gerbera

Pictures of this dazzling day were captured by Photography by Larson. They are the utmost professionals and their pictures speak for themselves! Please enjoy all the pictures in our gallery below.

Magical Wedding at Windsong Farm-Part 2

jewel- bridal bouquet Previously this spring  we had posted a unique wedding at Windsong Farms. At the time of the posting, we did not have the professional  photos done by  Jessica Charles Photography who photographed  this  creative and romantic wedding planned in the meadow under 100 year old oak trees and on a small pond covered in rose petals. Jessica did a fabulous job with the photos so we felt we should share them! bride and groom Jessica Chalres Photography orange-place-cards-and-table-setting The couple is dear to us at Flowers by Fudgie, as we work with them and their parents, who are owners of Finishing Touches…hair and makeup artists!!!

The caterer for this event was Jamie of Simply Gourmet Catering.  Jamie and her staff out did themselves!!! When we vendors of weddings come together to help one of our own, we always pull out all the stops.

The flower decor was simple but filled the bill for this ceremony and reception tucked into the meadow on this huge farm in Sarasota.  Fudgie’s designers used simply branches with mini sunflowers in tree like arrangements on the tables with small cubes of single large sunflowers surrounding the tall base. If you are looking for creative  wedding flowers in the Sarasota area,  Flowers by Fudgie’s fabulous designers are who you will want to talk to.  bouquet-and-sweetheart-table

After the wedding, the couple moved to the gorgeous Hyatt Regency Sarasota for their reception. Stunning table centerpieces were comprised of tall square vases with submerged orchids inside and crystals in the bottom.  LED lights in the centerpieces added a special touch and gave a soft glow as evening fell.  Tibor Imely of Imely Photography did an awesome job as always with the photography. Stunning Wedding at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota

This stunning wedding took place  at the  always elegant  Hyatt Regency Sarasota.  Yellow and purple were the colors of the day! These colors particularly complement each other based on their position on the color wheel.

The pergola at the Palm Terrace at the Hyatt was turned into a Chuppa for this breathtaking ceremony. It was draped with sheer organza and decorated with golden yellow lilies, purple orchids and yellow roses.  The palm trees were used to soften the look behind the Chuppa. Flowers by Fudgie also lined the aisle with carpet runners flanked with Sheppard hooks with glass cones of yellow roses.

The glowing and gorgeous Bride carried a garden mix of hydrangea, rose and mini calla with lavender and purple dendrobium orchid florets. The bridesmaids held hand tied bouquets of  Yellow “Latina” roses with the deep purple dendrobium orchids that matched their gowns.

We used a mix of 2 styles of table centerpieces…elevated centerpieces with topiaries of purple hydrangea with several sizes of cylinders with floating candles to give the room a warm romantic look.  The other style centerpieces were done with tall cylinders with submerged purple orchids with up lighting. Both were breathtakingly beautiful!

Magical Spring Wedding at Windsong Farms

Flowers by FudgieColor and whimsy set the stage for this absolutely magical wedding at Windsong Farms in Saraosta. Unique touches and creative ideas set this special day apart like no other!

The ceremony took place on a small idyllic pond with a wooden deck-like platform.  Lots of roses and rose petals were used in bright colors to float in the pond. Simple hand-tied clusters of bright flowers in a wild flower fashion were used to dress up the posts on the platform. Flowers included happy sunflowers, hot pink garden rose, purple daises, yellow buttons and lilies, and bright blue delphinium!Decorated Deck

The bridesmaids looked sublime in lime green dresses carrying wild flower bunches tied with raffia. However, the stunning bride chose a much different direction for her bouquet. She carried a specially made Jewel or Broach  Bouquet of pins and broaches– many of which the bride brought in and some additional ones included by Flowers by Fudgie. The piece de resistance was  an antique lime green and turquoise pin given to the bride by the groom’s grandmother that was placed right in the center of this jeweled wonder!Jeweled Bouquet

The men’s boutonnieres made a statement as well. They were made of feathers and blue wire for something interesting and a bit different.  Peacock feathers were added for punch of blue and green; they looked great with their blue and green bow ties!

Sweetheart TableThe sweetheart table for the couple was stunning with a chandelier suspended from a beautiful oak tree over the table.  The guest tables were simply elegant with 20” vases of curly willow branches with a mini sunflower attached to them for a touch of color!  The base of each cylinder was surrounded by 3 small glass cubes with an LED light and topped with a large cheery sun flower.

The dance floor, a clearing in the trees, was lined with café lights. Colorful umbrellas hung over the dance floor with colorful LED lights helping to light up the area as night drew near.

Overall, it was a beautiful spring day and evening with temperature near perfect. The bride’s parents chose to be cautious and had a tent put up in the event of rain, which was predicted at 30-40%.  Soon after the cake was cut, the wedding was blessed with a bit of a shower! Everyone made a scramble to the tent and the caterers carried the cake table to the tent as well. Several of the dinner tables were cleared and brought to the tent and the party continued! It was a great evening that finished with a fire and smores!  What a spectacular wedding!Guest Table

This wedding was extra special for Flowers by Fudgie as  it was for the son of a friend, who also happens to be in the wedding business!  The groom’s parents, Tammy and Joel Gamso, are outstanding hair and make artists and work on location for weddings with their business, Finishing Touches.  The caterer was Jamie from Simply Gourmet Catering and  the DJ was Ed Robinson from More than Music.

Check out the gallery below to view all of the beautiful and creative pictures from this most gorgeous day.

Destination wedding for all…including Flowers by Fudgie!

flower-girl-with-rose-orchid-wreath This happy couple from Clermont, FL chose to marry on St. Pete Beach. A search on the Internet brought them to Flowers by Fudgie. We were happy to be able to accommodate setting the ceremony on the beach and the reception at the Black Palm Restaurant in St. Pete Beach.

The bride selected a beautiful hand tied bouquet of white O’Hara garden roses, “mondial” roses, white ranunculus, white spray roses and just a few white dendrobium orchid florets. Flower girls wore white dresses with a turquoise starfish print. Pomander balls were done using blush spray roses and white orchids accented with blue sheer ribbon. The girls also wore matching wreaths in their hair. bridal-bouque-garden-mix Bamboo canopy-with-topiary-balls The bamboo canopy was set for the ceremony. The colors of the wedding were hues of white, ivory, tan and light ocean blue and were used in the decoration of the canopy. Natural moss as well as fresh floral pomander balls were suspended at different heights on the canopy. The look was fun and funky.

The Black Palm Restaurant was the venue selected to host the reception. Feasting tables provide the perfect opportunity to do composite centerpieces down the center of the tables. The tables were “landscaped” with a variety of containers including cylinders with teal gems and floating candles, cubes with mounds of hydrangea, small clusters of spring garden vases filled with blush spray roses, cylinder vases with wire wrapped calla lilies and small cubes with single white O’Hara garden roses on top with LED lights in the base. The variety of flowers, textures and heights made the tables centerpieces a feast for the eyes. feasting-with-shell-theme-and-candles feasting-tables-outside-with-shell-theme Thanks to Donna and Jonathan for choosing Flowers by Fudgie to be such an important part of their special day. Orlando couple weds at Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast

topiary-arrangement-for-wedding Rich hues of purple and lavender set the tone for this formal wedding at the Palmetto Riverside  Bed and Breakfast. The bride’s choice of eggplant, chocolate and ivory made for a very elegant color palette. Formal topiary arrangements of purple and lavender hydrangea stood 5 feet tall and framed the bride and groom as they exchanged their vows before friends and family.

The bride carried a lovely garden style bouquet of lavender hydrangea, lavender roses, purple and lavender lisianthus and purple orchids. She was accompanied by seven girls dressed in eggplant colored short chiffon dresses in different styles. Their hand tied bouquets consisted of white hydrangea with lavender roses and deep purple lisianthus. purple-and-lavender-bridal-bouquet

Following the ceremony, guests gathered at Pier 22 for cocktails and dinner. The tables were decorated with an eclectic mix of different styles of brushed silver and crystal candelabrum. An evening of laughter and dancing was enjoyed by all. Limelight Photography captured all the joy of the day and graciously provided the photos in our gallery. Pastel colors set the scene at Ringling Courtyard

composite-centerpiece-in-mix-pastel-colors-at-ringling-museum A short drive south brought this St Pete Beach couple to the Ringling Courtyard for their November wedding. The Ringling Courtyard is large enough to accommodate the largest of wedding with space for the ceremony, cocktails, dinner and dancing in one dramatic location, making for easy transition throughout the wedding. Anna Pohl of Day Planners was hired as coordinator and her knowledge and expertise kept everything progressing smoothly right up to the very last dance. ringling-bride-with-bridal-bouquet iron-arch-with-blue-hydrangea Flowers by Fudgie serviced this wedding with a team of designers on site led by owner Becki Creighton. The ceremony was set on the top level with our iron arch covered with greenery, curly willow and over 40 stems of soft lavender blue hydrangea. A single rose tied with sheer ribbon decorated every other chair on the aisle. Lights were strung over the seating area and glass chandeliers sparkled as they hung from the trees. Lighting elements were handled by our friends at Affairs in the Air. The scene was set and awaited a beautiful bride and handsome groom. bridal-bouquet-of-porceilana-rose-hydrangea-freesia-and-lizanthus sparking-head-table-at-ringling-museum The bride was stunning in an ecru gown with a taupe sash. Her preference for a bouquet with a garden feel led her to chose lisianthus, blush tone garden roses and porcelana spray roses nested into hydrangea with soft touches of greenery. Her attendants wore pale violet-lavender dresses and carried bouquets of blush garden roses, lisianthus and lavender delphinium tucked into soft blue hydrangea. Two flowers girls stole hearts wearing halos of porcelana spray roses and waxflower while dropping fresh rose petals from ivory satin baskets. Mothers selected small nosegays of Sahara roses and white dendrobium orchid florets to carry while grandmothers opted for more traditional shoulder corsages of white orchids. Boutonnieres for the men were white dendrobium orchids with greenery.

Cocktails were served on the mid level of the courtyard by Ringling’s own Treviso.  As usual, they handled all aspects of the catering from cocktails to dinner with precision. Slice of Heaven was the bakery of choice and created an amazing cake that was as delicious as it was beautiful.

head-table-at-ringling-museum While Treviso’s fare delighted the palette, guest table centerpieces were a feast for the eyes. Three separate yet coordinating arrangements graced each table. The focal piece was an elaborate arrangement of curly willow, blue-lavender hydrangea, cream O’Hara garden roses, taupe Sahara roses, porcelana spray roses, lavender waxflower and touches of trailing, feathery soft plumosia greenery in stately black urns. Candlelight glowed from the clear votive holders hanging throughout the curly willow. Two complimentary arrangements in white vases of hydrangea, Sahara roses and porcelana spray roses nestled close to the urn and votive candles on the table completed the look.

The beauty of the day will long be remembered thanks to lovely photography by Audrey Snow of Audrey Snow Photography. Thanks to the talents of many, from the florist to the caterer to the entertainment, everyone in attendance will have fond memories of this elegant wedding.
