The bride chose to carry a clean, tight bouquet of all white Oriental lilies. Attendants carried hand tied bouquets of hydrangea, white fuji mums, green dendrobium orchids and white and purple bicolor lisianthus. The beach ceremony was followed by a tropical casual reception at the Sun Garden Cafe in Siesta Key Village. Table centerpieces were a mix of styles. Some carried the beach theme with large cubes filled with sand, shells and starfish with green Fujis mums and purple dendrobium orchids with grasses while others were mounds of beautiful purple hydrangea. All the tables were completed with floating candles in cylinder vases with teal gems in the bottom to add more tropical color to the tables.

Sun Garden Cafe provided wonderful fare and everyone’s sweet tooth was satisfied with delicious cupcakes by Lyndsay at Pastry by Design. What fun it is to help a couple plan a tropical Florida wedding!

We enlisted Grace Felice, of Weddings by Grace to handle the renewal.  She was such a dear to work with and melded the story of our meeting and the past 10 years into a wonderful story that she shared, then gave each of us an opportunity to say our own vows. I was so surprised when my dear friend Evelyn England, of Sage Art and Video showed up to take photos along with her associate Deborah Lindsay.  I wanted this to be just a simple, casual gathering on the beach with champagne and appetizers followed by a lovely dinner at Ophelia’s on the Bay, where we had been married.  I really did not realize how important the photos would be until Ev presented them to me in an album and also digital files to share with you all. I am sharing these photos in hope that others will consider celebrating there wedding vows through a renewal.   

My lovely daughter, Sarah, sang and the storm waited until we were completely off the beach.  I am so grateful to have been able to have so many of our dear friends join us. 

As a wedding vendor, I love working with brides and love to help them make their dream weddings become a reality by making them beautiful with flowers and décor.  I chose just a simple tropical arch and a single hot pink duchess rose to carry. I have done beautiful renewals much more elaborate….it is a personal choice.  Think about it and plan for it.  Life if short and we should take time to celebrate wonderful milestones.

To my dear husband, I thank you for 10 wonderful years and look forward to many more.

This destination wedding took place on the beach at the beautiful Gulf and Bay Condos on Siesta Key.  The couple also had their reception in the clubhouse, which was catered by Nellie’s Deli, and Al Gordon Photography took photos.  The bride wanted the beach theme to be carried out with shells and palm fronds and lots of color. 

 She decided to keep the bridal bouquet and the bridesmaids in more subtle colors of green and white using cymbidium orchids for her bouquet and the bridesmaids carried nautilus shells filled with orchids.  This is a great idea as we provide a stand for the bouquet so they can easily be displayed on the head table at the reception.  We always like to suggest ways of getting double duty out of ceremony or personal flowers that can be reused at the reception.

The beach ceremony included a bamboo canopy for the bride and groom and officiates.  The canopy was decorated with sheer fabric to soften the look and bold tropical flowers on the upper corners.  The aisle was lined with rose petals and the back of the aisle we used 2 bamboo floor vases with birds of paradise and red ginger and other tropical flowers. The chairs also included a palm frond.

The reception tables had monstera leaf chargers and the napkins with trimmed with small green dendrobium orchids. The centerpieces included a grouping of glass cubes some with tropical flowers others with shells and floating candles. The place card table was trimmed with a conk shell filled with lilies and orchids and alstromeria.  Using 6’ palm trees also helped to carried out our tropical theme. The palms with up lighting were provided by Brett at Made in the Shade plant rental.  The trees were used in the corners of the room and at the entry.  Contact Flowers by Fudgie, your premiere florist – Sarasota, Bradenton, LongBoat Key, and Venice.
