Simply Stunning Wedding on Siesta Key

Bride and Groom with tropical bold bridal bouquetSimplicity in design, when done correctly, is stunning. And this Siesta Key wedding epitomizes simplicity at its finest.

This lovely wedding and ceremony took place at the bride’s parent’s home; it was the perfect backdrop for this special day. There were no groomsmen or bridesmaids…the bride and groom took center stage!Fireplace with tropical arrangement and lanterns

The ceremony took place by the outdoor fireplace where we did a palm frond arrangement which included Bombay orchids and lanterns on each side with floral clusters on top.  Lanterns are so popular right now and they add a beautiful touch! Additional lanterns were used on the patio and around the pool to tie it together.

Vivid Tropical Bridal BouqueThe bride chose to carry a trailing bouquet in bright bold colors. This bouquet featured green dendrobium and cymbidium orchids with orange lilies and hot pink roses. The groom wore an orange vanda orchid to complement the overall color scheme—it all worked perfectly together and created a stunning effect!Stunning wedding cake with bright flowers

The wedding cake was a true work of art. It was made by Paisano’s Bakery on Clark Road in Sarasota and we pulled in all the wonderful colors by adding fresh orchids and roses in green, hot pink and orange!

Long Feasting Tables with Tropical ThemeThe guests sat at long feasting style tables, which are very popular now. Rattan chargers and elements like sand dollars and starfish were used to pull in the tropical feel, along with the bold tropical-like colors and orchids.  Each table was given the name of a city or place the couple had traveled to such as the San Francisco table, Napa table instead of a table number…such a creative idea and a nice personal touch, too!

Down the center of the feasting tables, we did a composite look with several small arrangements such as single cubes with just a rose or cylinders with candles to make a fabulous look!

The catering was provided by the incomparable Michael’s On East. Their food is always scrumptious and their staff’s professionalism is superior…they are the best!

Be sure to take some time to look at all the stunning pictures in the gallery below. Cat of  Cat Patpennenga Photography really tells a story with her photographs! And a big shout out to Nicole Kaney and her team at NK Productions who helped pull this amazing day all together!

Fun Modern Wedding in Dowtown Sarasota

Modern Wedding PartyThis wedding was an absolute treat for the Flowers by Fudgie team for a very special reason, as it was a childhood friend of our owner’s daughter! Becki remembers going on a fun Girl Scout camping trip with this young lady and watching her grow up alongside her own daughter and their other friends—what a delight to now be a part of her wedding day!Calla Lilly Bridal Bouquet

This beautiful bride is not a “girly girl!” She prefers simple and clean, and her choice of flowers throughout the wedding reflected this simplicity. She chose to use Calla Lilies for herself and her bridesmaids in simple hand-tied clusters banded with ribbon. Stunning!Modern blue orchid and white spray rose pompadour ball

The men had Dendrobium orchid boutonnieres, and the moms had the same small orchids for their corsages. And since the bridesmaids were in dazzling cobalt blue dresses, the flower girl carried a gorgeous pompadour ball of deep blue orchids with a few white spray roses and ribbon down the aisle! The color was amazing!

Blue uplighting in The Francis BallroomThe ceremony took place at the always lovely First Church on Pineapple in downtown Sarasota, which has a beautifully renovated sanctuary. We kept the decor simple with 2 elegant Calla Lily arrangements with interesting greenery on glass pedestals. These pedestals were later transferred to reception site, The Francis, and placed on either side of the sweetheart table. We love to create beautiful and re-usable arrangements for our brides!

The Francis, adjacent to Louie’s Modern, has a distinct contemporary feel and is Sarasota’s newest boutique special events venue; it’s a great place for a modern bride! The decor chosen by the bride was an absolute perfect fit for this reception site. Wayne Delair of DeLair Entertainment was the DJ for the evening, but he also brought in wonderful uplighting in blue into the reception room, which complemented the overall look of this reception.Modern Cylinder with Orchids

To continue the clean and modern look for the reception, we used tall cylinders with LED lighting in the base for the tables. Half of the tables had cylinders with Calla Lilies inside, and the other half had cylinders with submerged white orchids.

We believe we delivered what this bride wanted: simple and elegant, yet budget friendly! That may sound like a tall order, but we specialize in making dreams come true for our brides!

Don’t forget to take some time and check out all the beautiful photos of this gorgeous wedding by Imely Photography in the gallery below. Her work is always mesmerizing!

Charming Vintage Wedding at Bay Preserve in Osprey, FL

The Bridal PartyCharm abounded at every corner of this lovely vintage wedding at beautiful Bay Preserve! This beautiful wedding locale is associated with Historic Spanish Point in Osprey and it is breathtakingly gorgeous!

Huge oak trees dripping in spanish moss, the sparkling intercoastal waterway, and a large brick home made it the PERFECT setting for this happy couple who wanted an “Old Florida Lawn Party” wedding!

The bride shared with us at our first consultation that she wanted “neutral colors” that would not compete with the beauty of the venue—she wanted a soft and romantic look, but not too fussy! We love to take a bride’s clear vision and make it a reality!Pewter Urns with Fresh Neutral-Palette Flowers

With this color-theme in mind, the bride carried a garden bouquet of hydrangea and blush tone White O’Hara roses with peach hypericum berries, ranunculus, and dusty miller…subtle in color, but dramatic in beauty!

The bridesmaids, each in a neutral gown they had chosen, carried a hand-tied wild flower cluster which included berries and Queen Ann’s lace. Each of the 4 little flower girls had delicate million star baby’s breath head wreaths in their hair and dropped rose petals as they walked down the aisle…so precious!

Beautiful Couple with Gorgeous Bridal BouquetBefore the ceremony, the bridesmaids gathered upstairs in a lovely dressing room for hair and makeup, which was handled by the always expert Tammy Gamso and her team from Fresh Salon and Spa. They also provided the bride with a lovely yet simple up-do…perfect for this wedding!

The ceremony was down near the water, under a huge oak tree! The stunning couple was flanked with 2 pewter-colored urns with large arrangements in neutral, fresh colors like the bride requested.  The aisle was lined with cream-colored rose petals for added beauty!

The all-white cake with white O’Hara roses was displayed in the beautiful home. This stunningly simple cake went perfectly with the theme of the day. The groom’s cake had a fun Gator-theme and family photos were used on the mantels, giving the brick house a cozy atmosphere!Stunning White Cake with White O'Hara Roses

Dinner was served on the lawn by the incomparable Michael’s on East with Tracey as the captain.  It is always a pleasure to work with such a professional team; their food never disappoints!

Vintage Garden Table SettingThe guests sat at tables alongside the water, with table runners of burlap. Vintage bottles and mercury glass were filled with a little bit of “this and that”….a few berries, spray roses, hydrangea…very simple, but as a composite grouping, very effective! The bride used green wine bottles with stenciled numbers for the table numbers—perfect!

We couldn’t have asked for a better day and we were so pleased with how this charming wedding came together! The bride was pleased as well and this just makes our day!

Please be sure to check out the spectacular photographs in the gallery below. The photography was provided by the outstanding Esther Louise Photography

And be sure to connect with Gillian Francis if you would like to book a wedding at Bay Preserve or Historic Spanish Point…she’s the best!

Delightful Destination Wedding at the Dazzling Ritz Carlton Beach Club

Destination Wedding Ritz Carlton Beach ClubThis dazzling destination wedding took place on New Year’s Eve at the Ritz Carlton Beach Club. It was a gorgeous all-white wedding with a touch of sparkle—elegant and festive!

The wedding itself took place on the lawn with a cocktail hour happening afterward. The reception followed the cocktail hour at the Ritz in their one-of-a-kind Ca D’Zan Room! The wedding ceremony was lovely and poignant, as the bride and groom’s children stood up with them.

This all-white wedding was truly spectacular. We added touches of bling to the bride’s slight cascade bouquet of garden roses and orchids. More bling was used when we added a collar of pretty pearls under the bridesmaids’ hand-tied bouquet of the same flowers. Both bouquets were splendid! Simple white dendrobium orchids were added to the bride’s daughter’s hair by the Salon at the Ritz Carlton for an additional special touch!

For the ceremony, we used our bamboo canopy with all white flowers on the upper corners.  It really dressed it up and gave it a very elegant look. A pretty pattern was designed with rose petals on the aisle which was really eye-catching. To continue the elegant, white theme, white hydrangea were used at the back of the aisle.  It was really beautiful!Destination Wedding Ritz Carlton Beach Club

The cocktail tables had a single open garden rose on each table.  It was a simple and pretty touch, just right for the hour long time of toasting and fellowship after the ceremony!

The reception was at the main hotel in the Ritz Carlton’s Ca D’Zan Room.  All white arrangements of hydrangea and open garden roses were designed in a low glass cylinder with a band of sparkly bling around the bottom. Destination Wedding Ritz Carlton Beach ClubWe also used a little of the silver curly ting for some additional sparkle and to make them a little more festive for the New Year’s Eve celebration. Floating candles were placed on each table with submerged white orchids, making an overall soft and very romantic look!

The couple and their family sat at a U-shaped feasting style table with the bride’s bouquet on a clip so that it could trail over the front of the table…we love to re-purpose flowers for our brides! Several smaller arrangements and candles were worked around it as well.Destination Wedding Ritz Carlton Beach Club

A good time was had by all, and everyone was still dancing as the New Year was rung in! We were thrilled to be a part of this couple’s wedding day and New Year! We were also thrilled to hear the great feedback from them!

Be sure to view the lovely pictures in the gallery below taken by the incomparable Tibor Imely of Imely Photography and Video. It is always a pleasure to work with her.

Tropical Theme Destination Wedding at the Ritz Carlton Beach Club

Tropical-Theme Destination Beach WeddingOh, how we love destination weddings! We love helping brides and grooms realize their dream day, make it as stress-free as possible, and knock their socks off with amazing flowers!

This fun couple wanted a tropical look for their Ritz Carlton Beach Club wedding with the striking colors of teal and cream. To achieve the look without pulling in too much color, we used lots of green orchids, and a few of the smaller deep purple orchids. They looked absolutely outstanding against the bridesmaids’ teal dresses!Tropical-Theme Destination Beach Wedding

The couple was married under a bamboo canopy which featured white lilies and purples orchids. They also had 2 lovely large arrangements in bamboo vases at the back of the aisle to greet guests. The aisle was lined with Sheppard hooks with floral arrangements in green and white. These were then transitioned inside and used on the head table and cake table! It’s always fun to re-purpose the flowers and get the most out of your budget!Tropical-Theme Destination Beach Wedding

The bride carried a stunning bouquet of white mini calla lilies, roses and green cymbidium with a bit of bling added. The groom wore double white dendrobium orchids. They both looked incredible!

The wedding took place on  a warm sunny September day, but there’s always a breeze at the beach…it was perfect! The sky was blue and the air was clear. It couldn’t have been better!

The reception was held inside the Ritz Members Beach Club Grill. We used 3 different types of arrangements on the tables to create interest and drama in the room. It was really lovely!

Tropical-Theme Destination Beach WeddingSome tables had green submerged orchids in tall vases with up lighting in them. Other tables featured tall cylinders with curly willow with a small green orchid attached to the branches and a collar of green hydrangea topped with white garden roses…very dramatic and unique!

Finally, some tables were done in a tablescape-look using 3 arrangements in varying sizes of cubes. The tropical theme was achieved and it was gorgeous!

Loads of candlelight was also used to add to the ambiance. Teal chair scarves were used to add a pop of color and complete the look.

Be sure to look at all the amazing photos provided by Anna Lythgoe at Pixel Art Photography in the gallery below! It was a joy to be a part of this lovely couple’s special day!

Elegant Sarasota Wedding at the Ritz Carlton

Bridal Party with RosesIt was another gorgeous—and we mean GORGEOUS—wedding at the elegant Sarasota Ritz Carlton! You can never go wrong with a Ritz Carlton wedding. Whether outside on the stunning grounds, or inside in one of the fabulous ballrooms, it is always spectacular!

This lovely couple chose one of the fabulous ballrooms for their ceremony. The ceremony was originally planned for the lush Healing Garden outside, but threat of rain and warm temperatures changed the couple’s mind.chuppa with chandelier

While the ceremony was in one of the ballrooms, the equally beautiful reception was in another ballroom, with cocktails taking place between the 2 rooms and an adjacent outside area. It worked out wonderfully! The Ritz is very accommodating and works hard to make their brides happy.

The ceremony took place under a beautiful chuppah with a sheer pretty fabric and Affairs in the Air hung a gorgeous chandelier from the center! At the very last minute, Affairs in the Air was also able to hang a drape behind the chuppah to hide the exit doors which were centered there. We then added a floral spray on the back.  Each of the chuppah posts held half topiary balls of Mondial garden roses where the fabric was pulled back. It was breath-taking! It is so wonderful to work with vendors like Affairs in the Air that pull out all the stops to make it work!Lavender rose petals scroll on the aisle

Two large urns at the back of the aisle greeted guests as they entered the ballroom and the aisle was swagged with fabric.  At the end of each row, a cluster of white roses stood on stanchions.  The white carpet was decorated with lavender rose petals in a pretty scrolled pattern. It was a knock-out!  We re-purposed the flowers from the ceremony for use later in the evening in the cocktail area and around the cake. It’s a great way to get the most out of your flowers!

The bridal bouquet was a pretty and feminine arrangement of white garden roses and the bridesmaids carried a garden mix in pinks and lavenders and purples. The colors were so eye-catching!

feasting table for family with elevated garden like floral arrangementsFor the reception, guests were seated at round tables which where decorated with amazing centerpieces of hot pink and white garden roses, hydrangea, pink peonies and phalaenopsis orchids.  They rose above each table on tall cut glass lead crystal pedestals. This was absolutely spectacular!

The families were seated at 2 long feasting tables. They were decorated with an array of flowers making one continual arrangement down the table. These flowers were arranged in mercury glass holders of various sizes and shapes. Some of the vases were filled with just hot pink garden roses, some with lavender stock, and some with white hydrangea. Hundreds of candles were also used which brought a romantic glow to the room and made it appear magical!

The place card table was also a unique element to this wedding! It was beautifully decorated with cut orchids and other vases of flowers grouped in the center of the table with the cards fanned out around it!place card table with cut phalaneaopsis

Nicole Kaney and her staff at NK Productions did an outstanding job planning the wedding and helping coordinate all the details. Nicole is a true professional with an artist’s touch! Lovely Longboat Key Club Beach Wedding

Bamboo canopy with pink and yellow flowersThis local couple had a dazzling wedding on the beach at the beautiful Longboat Key Club. The reception took place later at the gorgeous Harbourside Room.

This charming couple chose soft pastel pinks and yellows as the pretty color scheme for the beach wedding. They were married under our bamboo canopy with flowing sheer fabric and two stunning arrangements of pink lilies and yellow orchids in the upper corners.

Guest were greeted with 2 floral arrangements on top of tiki torch posts at the back of the aisle which was lined with pink petals. They had an amazingly beautiful day at the beach on Longboat Key. It’s always a relief when the weather cooperates for a beach wedding! But rain or shine, we are on stand-by to do whatever it takes to make the best day possible for our bride and groom!Pink Lilies and White Orchids Bridal Bouquet

The bride continued the pretty pink color scheme when she chose pink lilies with small white dendrobium orchids for her bouquet. She also wore a few orchids in her hair—such a lovely touch!  Since this little orchid is so durable, it is what we recommend most for hair flowers that will hold all day, even out in the heat!

White lilies and Yellow Orchids for Bridesmaids' BouquetsThe bridesmaids’ bouquets were comprised of white lilies with yellow small orchids, which contrasted nicely against their pink gowns! The boutonnières for the men were designed with the Marco Polo blush pink orchids. They looked sharp!

The reception ceiling in the Harbourside Room at the Longboat Key Club was beautifully draped with fabric and lighting by Affairs in the Air. Draping fabric always adds a dramatic and polished touch to a room. Affairs in the Air never disappoints!

We topped each of the tables, as well as the longer head feasting table, with tall cylinders filled with pink orchids that were uplit with LED lights to give a soft glow. This is such a romantic and ethereal look…just gorgeous!Submerged pink orchids centerpiece

Cupcake Tower decorated with pink lilies! This fun bride and groom chose a cupcake tower by Pastries By Design instead of the traditional wedding cake. We added some pink open lilies to the tower and it was a big hit with the guests!

And thanks to Nicole Kaney and her staff at NK Productions, the day went smoothly and was enjoyable for all involved. She is the consummate professional!

With its gorgeous location and dazzling interiors, it never disappoints! We had the privilege of providing the floral design for a wonderful couple at the Ritz recently and it was stunning!

This Jewish ceremony took place in one of the gorgeous ballrooms with a very pretty Chuppa. This Chuppa —with its sheer off white  fabric— was designed with round floral clusters of hydrangea and garden roses at the tie backs. It was incredible and provided the perfect backdrop for the ceremony.Pretty Chuppa with hydrangea and garden roses

The aisle was lined with breathtakingly beautiful cylinders and floating candles on top of white rose petals and the back of the aisle was banked with 2 lovely garden arrangements. These 2 lovely pieces became part of the table décor for the ceremony! This is a great way to make a budget work for you!

Topiary at back of aisle becomes a centerpieceThe reception tables all had elevated arrangements in the soft pretty pastel tones of lavender, blush pink, peach and cream! They were comprised of lavender, hydrangea, Pink O’Hara garden roses, Mondial and Versilia roses and bupleurum. This is a very elegant look and complemented the surrounding decor beautifully!

The glowing bride carried a  bridal bouquet of white hydrangea and peonies with Mondial roses. It was classic and oh-so sophisticated!

The bridesmaids’ bouquets were a garden look of lavender, hydrangea and lisianthus, pink spray roses with wax flower and bupleurum. We love the garden look!Stunning wedding cake with garden roses

Beautiful Indian Wedding

Beautiful Indian WeddingWe had the pleasure of doing another destination wedding for a wonderful couple from New York City. The bride’s mother and father live here so it was the obvious choice! Yes, we are little biased! This was an Indian wedding which featured all the rich traditions of their culture and it was absolutely striking!

The happy couple chose the beautiful Powel Crosely Estate for their wedding. The ceremony and reception were under a tent on the front lawn overlooking the gulf. The tent was a last-minute decision when rain was predicted on the special day! Fortunately, there were only a few showers, so it did not dampen any of the festivities!

Indian weddings are rich in tradition. For example, the couple and most of the women were dressed in Sari’s. The bride’s cream, gold and deep red sari was elegant and covered with beading that weighed over 20 pounds! Also, prior to the ceremony, intricate patterns drawn with mehendi (henna) were applied to the bride’s hands and feet which symbolized the deepening of bonds with her future husband.Wedding Canopy with Flowers

The ceremony itself took place under a  mandap or canopy. And, as part of the ceremony, both the bride and groom wore a Jamal—which is similar to a lei—made of red and white carnations!

Also, the baraat, or bridegroom’s wedding procession, is where the groom actually rides in on a horse, which is covered in finery. The guests follow, taking part in the dancing and singing!

Beautiful Indian Wedding yellow centerpiecesThe floral design was absolutely breathtaking for this amazing couple! We did 2 floral clusters on the corners of the mandap with green fugi, white phalaenoposis, yellow lilies, and trialing amaranths.

For the head table, the couple chose a feasting- style table with all the bridesmaids and groomsmen.  We used 2 of our 39” bling candelabras and worked in small centerpieces with a garden-like feel. These included hydrangea, roses and spray roses with fillers. It was spectacular!

Each of the guest tables were decorated with a pretty cube arrangement in yellow and white garden variety. The color combination of yellow and white is always so eye-catching and cheerful—just like this beautiful couple!Beautiful Indian Wedding

Jason Angelini Photography did an incredible job of capturing the day. Be sure to look at all the vivid pictures of this stunning wedding in the gallery below.

Destination Wedding at Siesta Key Beach

Bridal bouquet with pink and yellow roses with diamonettesSiesta Key Beach continues to be a big draw for our destination brides! This time a wonderful couple from the UK traveled all the way to Sarasota to have their special day at the beautiful Siesta Dunes Condo right on the beach. This was a small wedding of 14 people, but it was big in beauty and style!

Planning a destination wedding takes a lot of skill and organization and Anna Pohl was the planner of this incredible event from Linens by the Sea.

She was instrumental in pulling everything together for the big day. She arranged everything for this couple, from the tent & linens to the incredible photography by Tibor Imley, delicious food by Fete catering and even the officiant! Anna is a dream to work with!

Pink and Yellow Bridal BouquetAlthough the weather looked to be a bit threatening on the big day, they were able to have the beach wedding they always dreamed of…what a relief!

The bride’s bouquet was a simple hand-tied cluster of pink Sophie roses and yellow Skyline roses with a little bit of sparkle pinned in several of the blooms.  You can never go wrong with sparkle!Pomadour ball in pink and yellow

The little flower girl carried a pompadour ball of the mini yellow and pink roses—she too had a touch of sparkle! We also tucked a few roses in the little girl’s hair…she was just adorable in her little soft pink chiffon dress!

The feasting-style dinner table fit the 14 guest perfectly! We used a runner of mirror down the length of the table so the candles and tiny lights in the ceiling of the tent would  give a double reflection as the evening wore on—it created a magical effect!

Feasting table with mirrored runner and pink/yellow flowersWe carried the beach theme onto the tables with lots of shells in the base of our floating candles and smaller votive holders.

In between the candles, we used a couple of different style arrangements: some with just a single open rose and others with green hydrangea and a mix of the pink and yellow roses.  We even used a few larger star fish leaned up against the candles as well!

This was a very affordable table setting and gave them a fabulous look…you really don’t have to break the bank to have a gorgeous wedding!

Planning a Destination Wedding

Many people are surprised to find out the number of couples that travel to the area from overseas for weddings. We’re not! Our pretty beaches simply cannot be beat!

We endeavor to make the process of planning floral design for a destination wedding as simple and seamless as possible.

First, we send off a consultation form to the couple. After it’s completed, we then send a preliminary proposal with several options including bridal bouquets, arches, canopies, and even reception options. We also include pricing and photos along with all of the options.

It’s kind of like an oversized menu geared toward their needs, color scheme, and budget. We can work just through email to make the revisions and decisions or sometimes we will set up a phone consultation to get everything decided.  It works the same for any of our destination brides—from Tampa to London! We love destination weddings!
